This year, for 2021 Fort Boonesborough invited re-enactors and visitors to step back in time and imagine what the news of our founding fathers declaring their independence from King George would mean to settlers on the Kentucky frontier.

In addition visiting kids could "take up arms" and march and drill as early frontier militia did. Fort Boonesborough was never a military fort but was protected by the militia.
