The 2021 Jane Austen Festival

Race, Power & The Arts in Jane Austen's World.
July 9-11, 2021      Louisville, Kentucky

The 2021 Jane Austen Festival was a completely different experience than past years. Due to extensive renovations ongoing at Historic Locust Grove, and planning this event during a global pandemic the festival took on a new look. In addition, new guidelines at Locust Grove are examining the intersections of race and power in a historic home that was formerly a place of enslavement.
Because of these changes the speaker portions of the festival became virtual. But the fashions, the vendors and the wonderful participants still allowed for a wonderful look at Jane Asten's world.

Shopping

Vendors were on site for those wishing to add to their Regency Wear

Gayle Simmons Sundries

I have always included Gayle's fashions from the 2nd floor of the house. This year I found her with a much smaller display in the kitchen. Thought the mourning jewelry was especially interesting.

Workshops

The workshops were still in person - but were moved to the auditorium due to rain.
Thanks
