13th Annual

Women on the Frontier at Fort Boonesborough

April 22 - 23, 2017

Photos by Kathy Cummings

It was a soggy weekend at Fort Boonesborough’s 13th Annual Women on the Frontier Event. But it didn’t dampen spirits as participants settled in to learn more about the time period. Some of the outdoor events moved inside but the learning continued. Fort manager Bill Farmer along with planners Krsiti Heasley and Emily Burns settled on the theme Frontier Remedies, Food, Fiber & Farm Chores.

On Saturday morning there was a section on cooking with Michael Dragoo. And some visitors from The Travel Channel stopped in too.

Saturday afternoon we took some photos of Bill Farmer talking on medicinal plants.

Sunday morning volunteer and Foundation member Brenda Rice had a tea for the participants.
