It was indeed a pleasant surprise to visit the Civil War Museum in Bardstown, KY. Larger by far than it appears from the outside the museum was filled with artifacts and information about our nation’s Civil War. While many of the museums we have visited deal with a single battle or a local portion of history - this museum covers the war in it’s many aspects. From general photos of Presidents Abraham Lincoln and Confederate President Jefferson Davis to very specific personal accounts from the nearby Battle of Perryville, there is much to see and learn about.
