Although cold, it was a beautiful Christmas Celebration at Fort Boonesborough. This e vent is hosted by the Fort Boonesborough Foundation and has interpreters in cabins telling the custom of their heritage. Visitors want to know what Christmas was like on the frontier. The answer depended on the home country of most of the settlers. Different customs came with the new arrivals to Kentucky. Although times were hard in the early years of the fort, settlers tried to share with their families the traditions they had grown up with.
In addition to these 18th Century customs, there was music in the tavern accompanied by baked goods and hot chocolate and hot cider. In the other blockhouse volunteers helped children make cloth dolls and Christmas trinkets.
On Saturday carols were provided in the center of the fort by the Model Lab High School Choir of Richmond, Kentucky.
