The Anuual Simon Kenton Frontier Festival at Washington near Maysville, Kentucky was held in late September. The two day event is organized by Jon Hagee of Frontier Folk. Hagee is also a board member of The Kenton Kin (and former president) of the descendant group that holds it’s reunion at the gathering.
Mel Hankla who portrays Simon Kenton for the Chautauqua program of The Kentucky Humanities Council appeared at this year’s event. Hankla is pictured at left with a young member of Kenton’s Kin.
