Boone Station was the second home of the Daniel Boone family in Kentucky. The property today is owned by the Kentucky State Parks. For this year’s annual event - a re-enactment of Frontier Stations Under Attack showed visitors how settlers to early Kentucky lived under constant fear of Indian attack. Also on the scene were Butler’s Rangers (part of The Painted Stone Settlers) and their 3 pound cannon. While Boonesborough and other forts and stations withstood Indian attacks - there were two Kentucky Stations in which the British and Indians brought artillery. These two forts named Martin’s and Ruddles Stations were unable to withstand the artillery attack and all surrendered.
Parts of these and other Kentucky stories were combined to give visitors the sense of life in pioneer Kentucky. Despite some rain on Saturday visitors came through the camps and watched the re-enactment on both Saturday and Sunday. Friday saw busloads of students descend on the park and visit with the re-eanctors.
