The 2nd Annual
Settlement and Raid
Old Fort Harrod State Park

June 19 - 20, 2010

Photos by Jim & Kathy Cummings

A visit to Old Fort Harrod State Park brings an unusual mix of history. The park consists of the rebuilt fort, the Federal monument to George Rogers Clark’s conquest of the Northwest Territory dedicated in 1934, by President Franklin D. Roosevelt ; the Lincoln marriage cabin, where the parents of President Abraham Lincoln were married and the Mansion Museum which houses a mixture of Civil War memorabilia and more.

But on June 19th and 20th the history was all pioneer. Re-enactors came to the replica fort fashioned after the one built by James Harrod in 1775. Harrodsburg is the oldest continuous settlement west of the Alleghenies.

Events included two battles on Saturday and one on Sunday along with various speakers and presentations.
