BACK TEXT
Boone occupied the station until 1784 and his sisiter’s family was there until 1814. Robert Frank bought it in 1795 and built a stone mansion which survived into the 1800’s. In 1991, Robert C. Strader willed some 47 acres, including the site of the station, to the state. Boone’s Station State Park opened in 1992.

With a Welcome from Phil Gray, Park Manager for both Boone’s Station and Fort Boonesborough the dedication was underway. Gray introduced the attendending dignataries and then turned to Ron Bryant, Historian for Kentucky Department of Parks and Park Manager at Waveland State Historic Site. Bryant told those gathered a brief history of the land at Boone’s Station.

Henry Curtis (left) was instrumental in bringing Boone Station to the forefront and working towards it’s further development. He is shown here with Commissioner Miller listening to Ron Bryant’s short history of the land.

Below reenactors gather around the marker that commemorates Boone’s Station. It is always moving for reenactors to camp on land that the 18th century settlers they portray would have walked.
