Photos by Kathy Cummings

Thanksgiving Weekend - November 26 & 27, 2011

Thanksgiving Weekend is always Winter Trade Days at Fort Boonesborough. While Saturday was warm and sunny and drew quite a good crowd, Sunday’s all day rain limited activities to areas like the forge where Blacksmith Randy Wolfe can be seen giving a quick lesson to Jim Jacobs of Blue Heron Mercantile.

Winter Trade Days at Fort Boonesborough brings traders and visitors inside the cabins at the fort. This winter event allows sutlers to sell their wares from inside the forts cabins. Included in the photos above are samples of the many fine 18th century reproduction goods available.

During Winter Trade Days - Fort Boonesborough awards it’s Annual Re-Enactor Appreciation Days. The grand prize of a rifle was awarded at the Siege of Fort Boonesborough on September 26, 2010 to Tim Dvorak.
