Although Sunday April 17 dawned a gorgeous day, participants from The Illinois Regiment were not so lucky on Saturday. Cold, wind and rain permeated the entire day. Timed to coincide with the Louisville, Kentucky Derby Century event - Thunder Over Louisville only the die hard re-enactors attended this year’s Annual Spring 18th Century Thunder event.
But Locust Grove cam alive on Sunday with sunshine, blooming flowers and the men and families of George Rogers Clark’s famed regiment. Visitors explored the grounds and talked to the re-enactors. Everyone seemed happy just to have put the rain soaked Saturday behind them.
