Featured Speaker Margaret Sullivan , author of The Jane Austen Handbook spoke on “Five Things a Janeite Heroine (or Hero) Needs to Know” and signed books after her talk.

Bonny Wise spearheaded the event. Wise is regional coordinator for the The Louisville Jane Austen Society.

In addition to supplying hats for the style show, Lydia Fast was one of the Regency Emporium Vendors set up inside the visitor’s center at Locust Grove. Fast is known for her jewelry designs and millinery creations. www.lydiafast.com

Regency Style Show was held in the Quadrant tent with gowns by Betsy Bashore. In addition to her excellent commentary Bashore provided visitors with a handout detailing not only each garment but providing pattern and source information. Hats shown in the styleshow were by Lydia Fast of Ft. Wayne, Indiana

Other vendors included Kannik’s Korner, Mistress Jones’ Shadow Cuts, Traveler’s Tales Books, Regency Revisited, Cleveland Playhouse, Musee de Venoge and Taylor Rose Historical Outfitters.

In the shoemakers cabin.

A large tent on the grounds was used for speakers, the style show and an afternoon program on men’s clothing.

A Four Course Tea was served on the hour and was sold out throughout the weekend. In front of the “tea room” were tables with silent auction items.

Kathleen Kannik (center) gave both a morning and afternoon “Period Sewing Technique” class for beginner and intermediates and all classes were full.
