PRESENTATION

The House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Kentucky hereby recognizes and honors The Painted Stone Settlers for remarkable stewardship exhibited while working with great enthusiasm and dedication to preserve the rich historic tradition of Shelbyville, Kentucky.

Deriving it’s name from the first settlement in Shelby County The Painted Stone Settlers have given generously of their time and talent to re-enact the events that led to the establishment of the Painted Stone Settlement in an effort to entertain and educate citizens, to instill a sense of community pride and to preserve the heritage of this beloved area of the bluegrass state.

Now in it’s 6th year of existence the group has traveled extensively throughout Kentucky and the southeast region of the country, while it’s members have shown forth as consummate ambassadors of this community and this Commonwealth by the effort put forth in this most worthwile endeavor.

The members of this distigueshed body are delighted to join myself (Brad Montell) in extending deepest appreciation to these citizens as they continue to labor on behalf of the common good.
