JUNCTION CITY — James Larry “Heavy” Wilcher, 52, of Junction City, died Monday, March 14, 2011.
Born July 17, 1958, in Louisville, he was the son of Delores Hogue Wilcher of Liberty and the late Charles Ray Wilcher.
He graduated in 1976 from Casey County High School and was a print specialist at R.R. Donnelley Co. for 22 years. Larry was the proprietor of Rolling Fork Trade Co. He loved riding motorcycles and rode with the Patriot Guard. He loved fishing and hunting and was an 18th Century re-enactor and shot black powder muzzle-loading rifles. He was a member of Salt River Long Rifle Club, National Rifle Association and National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association.
He also is survived by his daughter, Chloe Wilcher of Danville; his fiancé, Melanie Kuntz of Salem, Ind.; and a sister, Carla Wilcher of Liberty. He was predeceased by a brother, Mike Wilcher.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Liberty, with Frank Jarboe as Parson John officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Liberty.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.
The family requests if you are an 18th-century re-enactor coming to the funeral, please dress out. Also, if you are a motorcycle enthusiast, weather permitting, please ride your bikes for a motorcycle escort from the church to the cemetery.
