The Ice & Snow of 2009 has left untold destruction and hardships throughout the midwest. Here in Kentucky over 100,000 are still without power. For areas in the north used to major snow storms this amount of snow would be minor. But it was not the snow that ravaged the area but the ice storm. Ice clung to power lines and tree limbs snapping them in two. Trees were bowed to the ground. But as much destruction as it caused it also has been a photographer’s dream. The past few days have been some of the most beautiful in recent memory. The sunlight playing off of limbs incased in ice has made the entire scene glitter and caused a play of light and shadows. Click here to witness the beauty of the ice storm.
