D-Day June 6th, 1944

A day that changed lives. For the living, for those that died on the beaches of Normandy in WWII, and for all the generations since. Many younger people do not know the story of D-Day. We share this newsreel as a way to call attention to the sacrifices made by “the greatest generation.”

Special thanks to Charley Gray, Lexington, Kentucky for sharing his story with us. He was a member of the 299th Combat Engineers - one of the first units to land on the beach at Normandy.
