The 10th Annual Women on the Frontier Event at Fort Boonesborough State Park took place in late April. The event began as a way to focus on women re-enactors and their special interests in frontier life. This year the theme was “To Clothe a Family” and dying and flax preparation were among the featured events. Salt making was also on the agenda and there were several vendors present with clothing and accessories geared just for women. Saturday evening concluded with a Kentucky Burgoo dinner prepared by the Fort Boonesborough Foundation. A first person presentation by Bonnie Strassell as Eva Lail wrapped up the evening.
