Dana McCall
Calls herself a “Jack of all trades” because she loves to dabble in several mediums
I started drawing at a very early age and painted my first oil painting at 12. I was influenced by my 8th grade art teacher, Mrs. Elders, and encouraged by her to continue my art.
I did not do much as a young mother but kept in practice doing a lot of sign painting and cartoon characters on old cars and race cars. I became more serious about my art in the early 1990’s and now have the full support of my family in pursuing art full time.
My chosen mediums are currently watercolor, graphite pencil and dabbling in oi9l and acrylics.
My work is displayed as far away as England, China, and Australia and as near as Clark Regional Hospital which purchased 4 of my original pieces in April 2017. Being recognized locally has been the highlight of my career.

I am also a mountain dulcimer player. The dulcimer is the Kentucky State instrument and I have organized the Homer Ledford Dulcimer Festival since 2012. Homer was famous for his instrument making and his workshop is part of our Bluegrass Heritage Museum.
I accept commission work, including portraits of people, pets, and house and other architectural requests.
